King of the Jungle (3rd grade)

Third grade students working on finishing their lion's mane during class.

King of the Jungle by third grade students.

Students in third grade created imaginary lion portraits during art class. We learned that lions live mostly in Africa and Asia.  Lions live around 10-14 years in the wild.  We talked about the term "pride" and how that may be similar to our own families.  Then we looked at Walt Disney's Lion King animated movie while designing our lions.

Third grade students adding the lion's hair with yarn pieces.

He is cutting the yarn to fit the lions mane.

Simba (as a character in the Lion King) means lion in Swahili.

What a personality this lion has displayed!

  1. Do you remember the initial promise of Sony with regards to the PlayStation Portable? Amazing games, on the go, all the time. Right....Indeed, it does sound like amazing fun, so why is it that the flagship title that the game the machine was created for still hasn't arrived? Yes we are looking, this evening, at Gran Turismo 4 Mobile.

  2. Do have the step-by-step lesson available?
IE how you drew the lion and how to make the mane?
